Author Bio
A New York Times bestselling author who has been reading
romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the
tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she
writes them too. Granted, Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland
in her grave, but to her way of thinking a hot, sexy hero never goes out of
fashion. Ever! Writing books pretty much fills her days now and she's always
busy. Raine has a prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back
into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. She loves to hear
from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. You can connect
with her on Facebook or visit her blog at www.RaineMiller.com to find out what
she's working on now.
I was introduced to Raine Miller's books by a friend of mine
OK she is more like a sister to me.
Then a group of people said you known you really need to read, I
guarantee you will enjoy them. Well
let's just say I purchased the first one and before I finished it had bought
the second one. I was captivated from
page one and literally could not put it down.
Raine Miller has brought sexy back yeah yeah you thought it was Justin
Timberlake. Sorry to disappoint you but
it was Raine Miller. In loo of her third book being released I decided to dig a little deeper into the person that is Raine Miller. Raine is a fantastic story teller and gives you that edge you need to keep you ensconced in her love stories involving Brynne
and the deliciously handsome Ethan Blackstone. So sit back and get to know the lovely Raine who has brought us the books we love to read and keeps our hearts beating fast.
Q: Ethan Blackstone
is an extremely mouthwatering male character where does your inspiration for
him come from?
Raine: Ethan came to me from the physical muse of British
model, David Gandy. His personality was
a blend of elements that I like in a hero.
I wanted him to be successful but not the ruler of the universe, and I
wanted him to be a loner rather than a player.
Q: This is a very
steamy book, filled with lots of steamy sex. Why did you choose this genre?
Raine: I started
writing the kind of book that I love to read myself. This is what I like to read, thus it’s what I
write.
Q: Knowing that you
have a third book coming out in this series, will there be other series? And
are you are working on it already?
Raine: I do have a 4th Blackstone book coming at
the end of the year. It will be more of
a standalone though. I am also working
on The Rothvale Legacy which is a spinoff of Blackstone featuring Ethan’s
cousin, Ivan Everley as the hero.
Q: In life, what has
been your biggest and most surprising accomplishment/s?
Raine: Making the New York Times as an indie author
is up there pretty high.
Q: If you met a man like
Ethan would you react to him the same way
Brynne did?
Raine: Ummm…my books
are works of fiction. Lovely,
fantastical fiction. *grinning*
Q: Do you feel you
were destined to be a writer? What made you choose writing, say over research
or something as equally boring?
Raine: I didn’t start writing until four years
ago. It was something I discovered as a
fun way to entertain myself and I loved it so much I kept on writing. It was for me, as fun as reading a good book
that I couldn’t stop reading. Writing was
just a hobby I did in my free time. I
sort of fell into this. I never dreamed
it would turn into a new career.
Q: Would you ever
think to pose nude for any type of art?
Raine: Possibly in
my youth I might have considered it. I
studied art in college and life drawing is a course we had to take. The body as subject is just that—art.
Q: Who or what is
your biggest inspiration in life?
Raine: My goal is to
live my life truthfully and healthfully with no regrets about the choices I’ve
made. I think if I can manage that, then
I am golden. I’ve been blessed with a
husband who supports me and is proud of me, and two beautiful children. I am a lucky woman.
Q: If you could accomplish anything in life what
would it be and why?
Raine: I would like to have a book that I’ve been
written be made into a film. That is my
ultimate dream to be able to bring a story I created, to so many people.
Q: Come on, tell the
truth. Rhage is your favorite BDB Brother, true? You can admit it, it is just
between friends *winks*
Raine: I LOVE Rhage
at BDB Unbound that is very true.
*smiles wide*
Q: Really, who is
your favorite character in fiction? Male? Female? What are their strengths and weaknesses?
Raine: There are
many favorites. Males: Vishous from JR Ward’s Lover Unbound, Mr.
Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
Jason Bourne from Robert Ludlam’s The Bourne Identity. Females:
Ayla from Jean Auel’s Clan of the Cave Bear series, Elizabeth Bennet
from Pride and Prejudice, Laura Ingalls Wilder.
The men are all aloof and strong, intelligent and somewhat
damaged. The women are all kind and
smart, but compassionate and tough.
