Stacey Rourke Blog Tour

I was privileged enough to be on the blog tour for Stacey Rourke and her books are worth your time.  Filled with love, magic powers and the good vs evil scenario.  So sit back and get to know Stacey and after I promise you will be intrigued to read her books.

Q:What snacks/drinks do you always keep on hand when you're writing?
Stacey:  I don’t ever eat when I’m writing, I can’t multitask that well, but I always have something to drink within arm’s reach.

Q:Are you ever afraid to go to sleep for fear your characters (such as Bernard) will gang up on you in your sleep?
Stacey:  That actually has happened! In Embrace there is a little green hob-goblin with wiry hair and piranha like teeth. That nasty little beastie is only in that book because it first appeared to me in a dream and chased me up a tree. True story.

Q:  Does the Dark Army Glee Club serenade you to sleep?
Stacey:  They used to but I had to make them stop. Eddie kept wanting to sing the Aerosmith song “Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” and he would emphasis the “stay awake just to hear you breathing” part in a way that made me really uncomfortable.

Q:  My question is regarding media kits, what are they? Do you use them? If you do use this, how beneficial is it?
Stacey:  I do use a media or press kit. These kits are a quick summary of everything pertaining to you and your book; author bio, book blurb, sell sheet, social media links, author events, reviews, advertising or marketing campaigns, etc. If you plan to do author events, library appearances, or approach bookstores about stocking your books you will need this kit. Within this kit you need to sell yourself and your book to them, show them you’re amazing and why.

Q:  Since imaginative people often have several talents, is there anything else creative that you do?
Stacey:  I dabble in lots of things. I think in pictures, odd as that sounds, so I love to decorate my house to make it look like the magazine pictures. I enjoy doing ceramic tile mosaics. I usually do a big sewing project every year, but limit it to one because for some reason I swear like a sailor when I get my sewing machine out. No kidding. I have sewing induced Tourette syndrome.

Q:  What do you listen to while writing?
Stacey:  I don’t listen to a particular style, but I search for a song of any genre that reflects the mood of the scene I’m writing. I will play that song on a loop to keep me in the emotional frame of mind I need to be in.

Q:  Do you find your writing style changes depending on what kind of music or other background noise there is?
Stacey:  Absolutely! I can’t watch TV while I write. I found that out when Titanic was on one day and all my modern day characters started talking with old English accents.

Q:  What weird author habits do you have? Any superstitions when you're writing?
Stacey:  NO ONE CAN SEE ONE WORD OF MY BOOKS UNTIL I HAVE GONE OVER IT THREE TIMES! No one!  I will not let eyes other than my own read one word until I have read through the entire thing three full times to make any changes. Not two, not four, THREE! Why? I have no idea. My brain says three and I don’t argue. My husband has tried to read over my shoulder and has nearly gotten punched. I do not mess around with this.

Q:  Do you write cliffhanger endings because you enjoy making your fans suffer and curl up in balls on the couch crying when they finish a book?
Stacey:  No, because that sounds mean! I just want to make sure you stick around for the next book!

BOOK BLURB

Celeste Garrett has finally found a happy balance in her life as the Chosen One, thanks in large part to a certain hunky Irishman. But if there's any lesson she should heed since receiving her calling it's that everything can change in the blink of an eye. Soon a terrible new threat, unlike anything she's ever encountered, causes her to make a gut-wrenching choice that will strip her of someone she holds dear. As much as she'd like to have a pity party for one, there's no time for that now because wedding bells are ringing in Gainesboro! In between dress fittings and rehearsal dinners Celeste will have to fend off attacking demons and leering pirates. As if the Dark Army wasn't scary enough our heroine is faced with the horrifying trauma of attending a bachelorette party with her mom and watching Grams do Jello shots. Is a walk down the aisle even possible for a member of the Garrett family when the Dark Army is out to destroy them? More importantly, will the Dark Army Glee Club sing at the reception? Raise your glass to the happy couple, and get ready for a wedding...Conduit-style.

My Thoughts

Would you sacrifice your happiness for the one you loved to save his or her life? Stacey Rourke’s third book Sacrifice says it all.   When Celeste fights a demon she gets the surprise of her life she finds out Caleb is tied to the demons who in fact are Titans.   Caleb's life is in peril and Celeste must make a decision that could change her life forever. There is a way to save him but can she do it and will Caleb let her? Make him human again or not, risk his death at her hand or another's or lose him forever.  It’s a choice only Celeste can make it. And she must follow her heart.   The author has a way of pulling you in and captivating you without you even realizing it.  The character dynamics are well worked out and you will be rooting for good to triumph over evil. Once again surprises jump out at every turn so if you think something may happen think again.  And FYI can I say I love the Dark Army Glee Club and I think you will too.  Get ready to cry have a box of tissues ready and sit back and become ensconced in this book, I promise you won’t put it down till the last page.
